Be Joyful

The other week I went to a church event that they have every Saturday night.  I had been going through a lot of issues that I was done dealing with.  I had some people pray for me and they told me that I am a person that is full of joy.  To be honest, I hadn’t been living like that for a very long time.  It felt like a wake up call for me, like it was saying, “Katy you are capable of being this way, choose differently.”

See, this is what I have learned.  It is a choice.  Choose to be happy, and I can promise you that if do that, you will see your world change for the better.

Where in the world has Katy been?

Hi guys,

So I am back. Well, at least once a week for the time being.  The last year of my life has been the biggest roller coaster of my life so far.  So many lows, but many highs as well.  In October, I moved to a new apartment with my roommate, and it was a great move!  Everyone in my apartment building is super nice and I absolutely love our property manager. She is like a second mom to me!

In December I got a job and I have been there for around 7 and a half months now.  I am a call center rep for a dental marketing company and I (try) and make 10 appointments a day! It is hard, but very rewarding. The people that I work with have become family to me, and I enjoy going to work every single day.  And I have even already gotten a promotion!

I am still very involved with school as well.  As of right now, I have two classes left to do and then I will be done.  I am not going to lie though, this term has been super tough for me.  With working and taking two classes at once I have felt very overwhelmed with the workload.  Luckily, it is almost over!

This is going to be short today because I have homework to do, but this is just a quick post to give a quick update and to say that I am back!

I’m Going Self Hosted!

Recently, I have realized that I want to focus more on my blog and writing in general.  I have been actively seeking out writing projects, as well as writing jobs that I can apply for.  This has really got me thinking about how it’s about time I start making money with my own blog.  So I have decided that I am switching my own blog over to WordPress.org soon.  I still have some research to do and figure some stuff out for myself, however, I would love your help and advice.

I know some of my readers are self hosted and I would love to hear your stories and experiences with switching over.  What was easy about it?  What was hard?  How much did it cost?

I’m looking forward to this new chapter with my blog, and I hope that you will join me!

A Year Can Pass By In A Blink Of An Eye

A year ago today, I posted my first blog post with this post right here, and little did I know my life would never be the same.  I started this blog with a mission in mind to stop stereotypes that are put on the disabled unnecessarily.  I can honestly say that while the problem is still out there, I have made an impact in people’s lives to be more mindful of the stereotyping that happens.

I have also shared a lot of stories and things I have gone through throughout the year as I live in the craziness that is known as Hollywood as I pursue my dream of working in the music industry.

Crazy how much can change in just one year, and how fast one year can go by.  I have learned a lot in many different ways over this past year, including by all my 245+ followers and I look forward to connecting and learning more from all of you in the next year(s) ahead. So this is my huge thank you to all of you that have put up with me these 365 days and here is to many more days and years together.
