Where in the world has Katy been?

Hi guys,

So I am back. Well, at least once a week for the time being.  The last year of my life has been the biggest roller coaster of my life so far.  So many lows, but many highs as well.  In October, I moved to a new apartment with my roommate, and it was a great move!  Everyone in my apartment building is super nice and I absolutely love our property manager. She is like a second mom to me!

In December I got a job and I have been there for around 7 and a half months now.  I am a call center rep for a dental marketing company and I (try) and make 10 appointments a day! It is hard, but very rewarding. The people that I work with have become family to me, and I enjoy going to work every single day.  And I have even already gotten a promotion!

I am still very involved with school as well.  As of right now, I have two classes left to do and then I will be done.  I am not going to lie though, this term has been super tough for me.  With working and taking two classes at once I have felt very overwhelmed with the workload.  Luckily, it is almost over!

This is going to be short today because I have homework to do, but this is just a quick post to give a quick update and to say that I am back!

Visiting Home Does a Body and Soul Good

There is always something about visiting home that is so refreshing and helps put things into perspective for me every time I visit.

While I was home I spent a lot of time with my parents.  I did not really see a lot of friends while I was there unfortunately, but then again I was only there for 10 days and family always comes first.

It hovered around 99 to 100 degrees for a huge portion of my trip.  Anyone that has been to Oregon knows that it rains a lot there so to have it be extremely hot like that is unheard of. and completely disgusting in my opinion.

I have noticed the past couple of times that I have gone home, my dad and I end up getting closer and end up having some really great talks.  It makes me feel good knowing that I can go to my dad when I need advice or just somebody to be there.

Speaking of my dad, I got to meet his girlfriend while I was home.  I absolutely loved her!  She is so sweet, and she makes my dad happy, so I can’t complain about that!

I got to spend some quality time with my mom as well, but it didn’t feel like a lot just because she had to work.  BUT I did get to spend 4th of July with her and some family friends.

I didn’t get to see any fireworks because we all ended up taking care of our dogs because they were scared of the fireworks and barking at them.

My mom recently started a new job within the past couple of months, so while I was home she took me to see the place and meet the people she works with.  It was great to see her in her element. My mom is a very out-going friendly person who will make friends with anyone and I could tell that this job just shows those traits of her very well.

I also got to see my sister as well.  She lives about two and a half hours away from my parents so it was really good to see her, even it was only for a night.  Believe it or not, my sister and I used  fight all the time growing up, but now I would have to say that she is one of my best friends who I can go to for anything if needed.

I will admit that I did work while I was home.  I got bored after a while needed something to do.  It also didn’t help that my dad also had to work and since he works from home, it made it that much easier for me to want to work as well.  Plus, I’m a Capricorn, and we can sometimes be known as workaholics so it  just comes naturally I guess.

So to sum up my trip I would say that it was refreshing.  I was able to come back to craziness more refreshed and ready to attack work and everything else that LA has to offer, which makes me thankful to be home.

I’M ALIVE, I SWEAR!

So, remember me?  I’m BAAAACCCCKKK, or at least for just this second.  I haven’t updated in so long, but my crazy life in Hollywood got in the way.

I have some quick updates:

1.) The other week I had my Movement reunion.  which was the program I was in when I lived in LA for the first time.  It was so great to see everyone after 5 years.  It is crazy to me how much things can change in that amount of time.  I’ll probably write a more in-depth post about that later when I have the time.

2.) I get to see my family next week!  I am going home for the 4th of July and I get to see my family for 10 whole days!  I am so excited!  However, I am hoping and praying that Oregon’s allergy levels for the pollen is down so I am not dying the entire time.

And most importantly:

3.) I GOT A JOB!!!  Well, it’s an internship right now, but it has a very good chance of turning into a job!  What are you doing, you might be asking.  Well, let me tell you.  I work with a startup company called Wag!  and they are a dog walking app/company.  They are basically the Uber for dog walking.  If you have a dog and it needs to be walked, you download the app, schedule or request a walk for right then and there and someone comes and walks your dog.  It is pretty genius if you ask me!  I was going to help with their social media, but they really needed help with finding dog walkers so that’s what I do.  I have always loved dogs and I am so happy that I get to work with dogs on a daily basis.

If I get quiet for a long period of time again, this is why.  I am staring at my computer for almost 7 hours a day and when I come home, I don’t want to look at my computer anymore.  Hell, I am so far behind on blogs it’s not even funny!

Well, duty calls in about an hour, so I should go, but I thought I would give everyone a quick update.  Have a wonderful Monday and rest of the week everyone!
